Villeroy & Boch: Changes in Management Board. Georg Lörz to become new Director of Bathroom and Wellness at Villeroy & Boch AG. Management Board mandate of Dr Markus Warncke extended
The Supervisory Board of Villeroy & Boch AG has appointed Georg Lörz to the Management Board as the Director of Bathroom and Wellness effective 1 August 2020. He will succeed Andreas Pfeiffer, who will be standing down as a member of the Management Board by mutual arrangement after many years of service at Villeroy & Boch, and leaving the company to pursue new professional challenges as at 31 July 2020.
“Eight years on the Management Board speak for themselves. During this time, Andreas Pfeiffer played a key role in the successful advancement of Villeroy & Boch and the Bathroom and Wellness Division. We thank him for his commitment to Villeroy & Boch and wish him all the best for the future,” said Frank Göring, CEO of Villeroy & Boch AG. Andreas Pfeiffer, who became the Head of the Division in 2008 and joined the Management Board as the Director of Bathroom and Wellness in 2012, has helped to crucially define the company’s development and its strategic outlook. Together with his team, he led the Bathroom and Wellness Division with passion and dedication, continuing both its steady growth in profitability and its internationalisation, primarily in the Asia region with a focus on China. After overseeing the transition and handover to his successor Georg Lörz, Andreas Pfeiffer will be taking up new professional challenges in Austria, where he now bases his life.
Georg Lörz previously worked at Villeroy & Boch to great success from 2003 to 2008. As the Head of Sales and Marketing for Bathroom and Wellness, he also served the Division’s overall interests as its spokesperson. He later demonstrated his expertise and leadership skills at international corporations in Germany and Switzerland. As a managing director and partner, he initiated and oversaw successful strategic projects in the sanitary sector. Most recently he was the co-founder and managing director of an innovative company for bespoke bathroom furnishings. “We are delighted to have secured Georg Lörz for the Management Board. Thanks to his extensive expertise in the areas of general management, strategy, sales & marketing and supply chain, not to mention his thorough understanding of the sector, he will continue to drive the Bathroom and Wellness Division’s success,” said Dr Alexander von Boch-Galhau, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Villeroy & Boch AG.
The Supervisory Board of Villeroy & Boch AG also resolved to renew Dr Markus Warncke’s contract as a member of the Management Board. Dr Warncke will therefore remain in office as the Chief Financial Officer. Dr Warncke worked for Villeroy & Boch AG since 2001 and became its CFO in January 2015. “By renewing his contract early, we are sending a clear signal of continuity and stability in the company’s management,” stated Dr Alexander von Boch-Galhau, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Villeroy & Boch AG. On the Management Board, Dr Markus Warncke will retain responsibility for the areas of Controlling, Accounting, Treasury, Taxes, IT, Procurement, Property, Internal Audit and Investor Relations.
