New full range for accessible bathroom solutions – ViCare: Functionality, comfort and elegance in the multi-generation bathroom

With ViCare, Villeroy & Boch is defining a new standard of accessible bathroom design: The ViCare product group includes the entire accessible product range of Villeroy & Boch, quickly and easily creating transparency for everyone who would like to plan and build accessible bathrooms. In addition to the ceramic products from the O.novo Vita and Architectura Vita collections, with ViCare Villeroy & Boch is now also offering accessories for comfortable and modern bathrooms from a single source.

New handle and seat systems

The new ViCare accessories comprise different grab and support handles as well as shelves in the two series Design and Function that all meet the EU directive CE EEC 93/42 for medical products. The ten items of the Design series are chrome-plated and have a clear elegant styling. The Function series offers new products in a neutral white. Both blend seamlessly into the bathroom.

The Design and Function series are characterised by intelligent features. The new type of shower holder allows for a one-handed operation and therefore for maximum safety and comfort. An innovative corner solution with a single-point mounting system was developed for the handrail so that it can be securely gripped without setting it down. In addition, the installation is particularly simple. There are only minimum cutting edges, since the walking stick principle was applied in the corner joints of the handrails. This is ideal for cleaning and ensures the best level of hygiene. One particular advantage: The load capacity of the handle systems is about 20 per cent higher than is required for unrestricted wheelchair use: The Function series can be loaded with up to 120 kg, while the Design series holds up to 130 kg.

For safe sitting in the bathroom and in the shower, we offer a bathroom stool, a mobile hanging seat and two different folding shower seats. The seat systems hold up to 160 kg.

Solutions for the vanity area and toilet

The two ceramic series O.novo Vita and Architectura Vita comprise a wide selection of ceramic bathroom elements for designing intelligent accessible solutions at the vanity area and toilet. The series combine current design with a timeless puristic styling, therefore laying the foundation for well-designed and comfortable bathrooms free of any stigma. The products meet the DIN standard 18040 for accessible building and are therefore perfect for construction projects in the project sector.

The washbasins from O.novo Vita and Architectura Vita thus offer plenty of clearance for your knees, allowing comfortable body care while sitting and easy passage underneath with the wheelchair. Front handles or concealed grooves under the unit make it easier to pull up a wheelchair and provide support when standing up and standing. All models are available with the cleaning-friendly surface finish CeramicPlus. Select models are also available with the antibacterial glaze AntiBac, which reduces bacteria growth on ceramic surfaces and toilet seats by more than 99.9 per cent with the help of silver ions. Different wall-mounted and floor-standing toilet versions are also available with the AntiBac glaze. Rimless models with the innovative DirectFlush technology are also available for easy cleaning and maximum hygiene. The matching toilet seats withstand a load of 240 kg, which is 90 kg more than required by standards. Special buffers prevent the seat from sliding laterally when transitioning from the wheelchair. A continuous hinge shaft and the optional comfort features QuickRelease and SoftClosing make use and cleaning easier. The grip grooves on the edge of the toilet lid make it easier to lift the lid easily and hygienically. In addition to white seats, blue seats are also available, which make orientation easier for people with dementia.
