Monochrome: Villeroy & Boch brings catwalk glamour into your home

Bye-bye colour blocking, welcome monochrome! Had enough colourful of colour combinations? Now you can give your home the "tone in tone" look. Depending on the colour palette, this new trend is a real "chameleon" – it can be subtle or dramatic, purist or playful. Monochrome works best with darker tones such as black, anthracite and aubergine.

The rules are simple, the effect spectacular! The monochrome trend combines different shades within a uniform colour palette. As the colours fade into the background, the focus shifts onto the contours, surfaces and textures. This makes monochrome perfect for elegant materials and ornate shapes. And this trend can be applied almost anywhere – in the bathroom and kitchen, and even on the dining table.

The perfect backdrop for creative food productions

A table set in a tone-in-tone design really sharpens one's eye for the essentials. Especially on dark colours, carefully prepared dishes appear particularly refined. With Manufacture Rock and its authentic slate surface of coloured-through premium porcelain, the entire dining table can be styled in a dark slate look – from underplates, dishes and bowls to espresso cups. The typical slate relief, created by rock layers that are millions of years old, is shown in its best light thanks to the uniform colour scheme. And to match: matt black vases from the Manufacture Collier collection.

New: La Boule in monochrome

The iconic La Boule is also available in two monochrome versions: As La Boule black in matt black or La Boule white in glossy white. As a new edition of the "ball", with which Helen von Boch caused a sensation in 1971, La Boule fulfils Villeroy & Boch's promise to create truly eternal designs. The perfect spherical shape is further emphasised by the uniform colouring. As a designer object and stackable crockery set in one, La Boule captivates thanks to its unique symbiosis of functionality and aesthetics. La Boule is always simply perfect – in individual pieces on a laid dining table, or as a complete work of art in a showcase. Which is why it is coveted by design lovers and connoisseurs alike.

Monochrome in the bathroom: reduced without compromise

White has long been considered the classic colour for bathrooms: timeless, purist, elegant. But then came the Memento 2.0 collection with a washbasin, bidet and toilet in a spectacular black finish. Which proved that dark colours look just as good in bathrooms! The colours Glossy Black, Graphite and Ebony emphasise the modern, urban character of Memento 2.0 with its precise contours and minimalist design language. For those who want to consistently maintain the look, dark furniture fronts from the Finion series are combined with a matt black glass top. For even greater comfort in the monochrome bathroom, the Villeroy & Boch range also includes the ViClean-I 100 in Glossy Black.

Achromatic interior – for a timeless contrast

The preference for monochrome designs does not stop at the kitchen and living room. Handleless kitchen fronts and worktops in an elegant dark marble look offer an attractive contrast to dark wall designs. High-quality ceramic sinks in Ebony and taps in Anthracite make confident statements in the kitchen. Sure, it takes a little courage to consistently design the kitchen or other living spaces in contrasting shades of black. However, this courage will be amply rewarded in the form of extravagant, aesthetically pleasing spaces.
