Trendy new shapes in TitanCeram – Siluet 50 S and 60 S: stylish, flexible single basins
“The beauty of fine shapes” – that’s the motto of Siluet, Villeroy & Boch's first sink made from the innovative TitanCeram material. Since its launch in 2017, this series, honoured with the German Innovation Award 2019, has been continuously expanded to offer an even wider choice of design options. Inspired by the latest kitchen design trends, two new models have been developed for 2019: the Siluet 50 S and Siluet 60 S single basins, compatible with all standard 50 cm and 60 cm vanity units.
The absence of a drainage surface gives these solo basins an exceptionally minimalist and streamlined look, with clearly defined lines and straight edges. The small service sink is a distinctive design feature that also serves a very practical purpose, allowing residual liquid in cups or glasses to be easily poured away while the large basin is filled with washing-up water.
The square 50 model offers great versatility with rotating installation options. As well as being located at the rear – as is the case for the 60 model – the service sink can also be positioned on the right or left, depending on the installation scenario and kitchen design. This provides exceptional flexibility, opening up new horizons for personalised kitchen design and sophisticated effects.
Individuality meets functionality
The introduction of the two new single-basin sinks takes the Siluet range to a total of six ceramic sinks. In addition to the 60 R sink, which offers added functionality with a second smaller basin, the Siluet series includes models with a large basin and drainage area for 60 cm, 50 cm and 45 cm vanity units, in a choice of 13 ceramic colours including the new ivory beige shade of Almond, developed by the designer Gesa Hansen.
The basin can be located on either side of the drainage area in all models with this feature, opening up flexible design options. All sinks are also available for either flush-fitting or surface-mounted installation. As well as being very easy to clean, a flush-fitting sink makes the work surface appear larger and creates a minimalist elegant effect. In the classic installation option, Siluet sits on top of the work surface and its narrow rim clearly demarcates the sink from the surrounding area.
The tap fitting can be supplied with either a manually operated or pop-up waste outlet. A number of versatile accessories are also available to streamline workflows: a universal walnut chopping board that can be placed in the drainage area to prepare food, as well as a practical roll-up rack and multifunctional stainless steel wire baskets offering a perfect fit for the standard 1/3 and 2/3 steam bowls.
Filigree design for modern kitchens
As well as outstanding functionality, the Siluet range also impresses with its stylish looks. Its precise and yet sensuous lines, developed by the designer Patrick Frey, make the ceramic sink a stylish highlight in a modern kitchen. Its striking design features include a narrow mounting rim, small-radius corners and a linear inner basin.
Siluet's filigree design is made possible thanks to the innovative TitanCeram material, which has been specially formulated to allow the creation of clearly defined edges and slender walls combined with high stability. TitanCeram also offers all the material advantages of high-quality ceramic: all Siluet models are food-safe and lightfast, resistant to knocks, impacts and scratches as well as heat and cold. The CeramicPlus surface finish also ensures hygiene and easy cleaning.
