Ecora shower tray from Villeroy & Boch: designed for the future

The bathroom is a place for personal rituals. Here, Wwe experience materials up close here, touch surfaces every day and consciously perceive proportions. This is the inspiration for the new Ecora shower tray from Villeroy & Boch: made from the PureBase composite material in an approach combining material selection and design right from the start.

Material innovation as a quality promise

The foundation of Ecora is PureBase, an innovative composite material made from recycled granulated marble, calcium carbonate and reclaimed production surplus. The range contains around 45% less resin and is completely fibreglass-free. Residue from production processes is crushed and used as a valuable filling agent in new shower trays – a closed circuit that significantly reduces material consumption. At the end of its service life, Ecora can be completely recycled and used as a high-quality secondary raw material in applications such as road building and the construction of high-rise buildings.

PureBase therefore embodies the quality and sustainability philosophy that has guided material selection at Villeroy & Boch since 1748: precision in processing and durable use – throughout the service life and beyond.

Design for personalised bathrooms

Ecora features a rimless design and a 35 mm profile. The shower tray can be integrated level with the floor for a harmonious look that blends with the flooring. Ecora exemplifies the principle that good design is absorbed into a space without dominating.

One creative detail making its debut in the Villeroy & Boch range is the oval outlet cover which is integrated flush with the surface in the same colour as the shower tray. With a drainage rate of around 48 litres per minute, its performance exceeds the standard value.

There are three installation options: flush-fitting in the floor, slightly raised on tiles or as a deliberately raised feature. Ecora is equally suitable for new builds or renovations.

Colour, surface, versions

Ecora harmonises in all kinds of bathroom concepts – with no need for compromises thanks to cleverly conceived options. Available in four colours, three finishes, and a wide selection of sizes the shower tray is an impressive feature in both minimalist bathrooms and warm spaces with an emphasis on materials. For even greater flexibility, the shower tray can be adapted on three sides on site to accommodate individual layouts – in both new builds and renovations. Ecora also pairs well with the Villeroy & Boch Skyla collection.
