A timeless family favourite with a modern new look - New French Garden decor: as fresh and fruity as modern country living

Plump cherries, zesty lemons, sweet plums and crispy apples - the large fruits depicted in the Villeroy & Boch French Garden Modern Fruits tableware collection are so fresh and vibrant you could almost imagine yourself in a French garden, in the midst of the beautiful colours of ripe fruit and blossoming flowers. Their captivating scent evokes all the pleasure of country living. French Garden allows you to enjoy this beautiful summery country lifestyle every day in your own home!

For over 20 years, the successful French Garden tableware series has been an absolute family favourite. The decor depicts a feast of sumptuous fresh fruit, immortalised in timeless beauty on the Louis XIV-style tableware shape, designed in 1780 in Septfontaines in Luxembourg and still synonymous with the classic country look à la Villeroy & Boch. The smooth outlines of the porcelain evoke the gently curving shape of a flower and emphasise the informal arrangement of the patterns. The decor has been reinterpreted for 2019, with two new versions now adorning the familiar tableware shapes.

Selected details of the existing fruit designs have been lovingly worked out and enlarged with great sensitivity and attention to nuances to create French Garden Modern Fruits. The result is impressive: cherries, lemons, plums and apples make bold statements on plates, dishes, cups and bowls, transforming them into eye-catching features on the table.

The second new decor is more understated: French Garden Green Line conveys all the natural vibrancy of the colour green on pure white Premium Porcelain - fine borders with delicate small leaves and coloured ribbons accentuate the elegant dynamism of the tableware shapes and give the porcelain a beautifully subtle country-style attitude.

The two new lines offer a wide selection of items for a complete coffee or dinner table setting. The effect is particularly attractive in combination: French Garden Green Line creates an understated and yet striking contrast to the vibrant expressiveness of French Garden Modern Fruits. The new designs can also be easily and stylishly mixed and matched with the existing French Garden Fleurence tableware and the popular Valence, Vienne and Orange lines, brimming with summer charm in warm yellow and soft green shades with scattered depictions of fruits and flowers. This opens up lots of scope for continuously changing, individual and fascinating interactions of shapes and colours in a refreshing country-style atmosphere.

With the new French Garden designs, Villeroy & Boch is unveiling another modern new interpretation of a successful tableware collection. After the Brindille collections, the latest adaptation of the Old Luxembourg decor with fine, blue blossom sprigs, and Rose Sauvage, a new edition of the internationally popular Wildrose decor, French Garden is now the third tableware collection to adopt the strategy of injecting new impetus into favourite classics with a contemporary look.
